This is Woody Lifton's report on Beatles Tribute Cruise 2011
and it will focus on one of the highlights of the cruise, our
raffle to support Thrive Survive of Los Angeles. Thrive
Survive was founded by Nico Juber, who is Laurence Juber's daughter
(for those of you who do not know, "LJ" was the headline
entertainer on this year's cruise). As a Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma
survivor Nico found the resources and support system for young
adult cancer survivors was sorely lacking so along with Sunshine

We heard rumors about The Beatles Let It Be on DVD. You hear anything
yet? They should release it as Let It Be Naked on DVD. I would
be happy if it was the complete 45 minute version of the rooftop
concert. Also, is The Compleat Beatles coming to DVD?
Tom Frangione Responds: Reports from Apple say that Let It
Be won't happen any time soon (one quote was "not in our
lifetime"). There is a version making the rounds in collectors
circles, as reported in the new issue of Beatlefan Magazine; unfortunately,
we can't point you to any sources, but check with fellow Beatles
collectors who acquire these things. As for The Compleat Beatles
(the documentary from the early 80's) ... The Beatles own Anthology
was intended to supplant all such documentaries as told by the
band themselves. It is highly unlikely that Apple would ever issue
it or even grant permission to the original producers to do (I
dare say you have a better shot of seeing them release Let it
Flowers A Badge
When I was going through some of my memorabilia I found a badge
maker that John and I had. John loved to wear buttons and badges
so when he saw the advertisement for the machine, he had to get
one immediately. It arrived just as Julian was with us, so we
all sat around and cranked them out. I kept Julian's first badge,
which said "Hello my name is Julian." I also had a badge
that John made for me of the cartoon "John" from The
Yellow Submarine movie ... he wanted me to wear all the time (and
When I learned that Julian was buying and collecting memorabilia
that involved his dad, I immediately sent him the badge maker
and those two badges that he remembered instantly. I was happy
to give Julian something to remember the fun time he spent with
us. You can see it in his book entitled: BEATLES MEMORABILIA:
