Ringo Gets His Star(r) in Hollywood

Last week, Ringo Starr became the 2401st to get his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, outside the famed Capitol Building at 1750 N. Vine Street, the building “he helped pay for” barked Ringo at the unveiling.

Ringo was flanked by his wife of 30-years, actress and former "Bond Girl" Barbara Bach, plus a dozen or so friends and family, along with nearly 1000 onlookers and fans. One of those who spoke at Ringo’s ceremony, was recent brother-in-law and longtime friend, Joe Walsh, who called Ringo “The Greatest” and said he truly deserved to have a star with one “R” on the walk.

Beatles History For Sale: Abbey Road Studios!

Abbey Road, the London recording studios immortalized by The Beatles album of the same name, has been put on the market by EMI as the music group looks to extricate itself from the debt burden of Terra Firma's 2007 leveraged buy-out.

It was not immediately clear whether EMI would sell the Abbey Road brand name along with the property, but one media lawyer said: "The brand is worth more than the building... anybody who wants the studios will want the brand." Read More

Oh No! Yoko Turns 77!

This WeekYoko Ono Lennon celebrated her 77th birthday (2/18) with a concert featuring friends and family in New York at BAM on Tuesday night.

Bette Midler sang "Yes, I'm Your Angel" to Yoko, and a concert starring son Sean, Eric Clapton, Klaus Voorman, Justin Bond, Paul Simon, Jim Keltner and others wooed the crowd.

The show began with a montage of Ono recordings, films, interview clips, and photos from her days with husband John Lennon, and ended with the cavalcade of special guests including the “new” Plastic Ono Band.

Y The Beatles

In past newsletters we’ve asked you to contact your local Oldies or Classic Hits Radio station’s Program Director in support of The Brunch. They need to hear from you. Some stations don’t want to “live in the 60’s” and our show provides just enough Beatles to satisfy the toughest PD. All you have to do is ask for us.

The bottom line … keep calling your local station’s Program Director and tell him you want Joe Johnson’s Beatle Brunch for all the reasons you can read about here:

  • The Beatles are the top selling rock band...last year, 16 of the top 20 albums on billboards chart were from The Beatles

  • The Beatles Rock Band is outselling other software rock games and exceeded all expectations.

  • Having Joe Johnson’s Beatle Brunch on your local favorite Radio station can provide a relief to a low frequency of Beatles music in the day to day schedule.

  • Beatles fans can listen to a unique hour of The Brunch during the weekend helping the station achieve the high ratings they need to function successfully in the market.

  • The Beatles transcend all ages. Young and old alike, everyone loves The Beatles and to note the popular feature film, Across the Universe, many teens embraced it.
  • The Fest for Beatles Fans conventions held each year in New York and Chicago draw up to 20 thousand people from all over the US and Canada at each function.

  • Ringo Starr recently received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame near John Lennon's . George got his last year and Paul's star is in the works.

  • Paul's concerts sell out in minutes.. He played 3 sold out shows at CitiField last July and the shows were made into a best-selling double CD/DVD.

  • Joe Johnson's Beatle Brunch is celebrating its 18th year and has just been renewed by Westwood One, the number one syndicator of Radio programming.

  • The Beatles Remastered Box Sets sold out in hours and they had to Remanufacture more at the factory.
