A Blast From the Past? Y Not?

Ringo flashes forward and looks back to the past on his new CD, "Y Not" on Hip-O Records/UMe. The flash forward is Ringo’s first job as producer on an album (his last five studio CDs were produced by former Roundheads bandmate Mark Hudson, who also had a one song production credit on Ringo’s last album, “Liverpool 8”.

The Blast from the Past is most notably the appearance of Beatle Paul on two of the tracks. Macca plays bass on the Lennon influenced, “Peace Dream” and then famously sings background on the first single, “Walk With You”.

Ringo Says Y Not Promote

Ringo’s appearance last week in New York was to kick off promotion for his new CD Y Not. Ringo held a press launch on the set of “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” in the afternoon, where he played three shortened versions of two new songs from Y Not, and a shortened version of The Beatles classic, “I Wanna Be Your Man”.

Check out the downloads section of The BBC. And read New Yorker Steve Frank’s Blog of the Day he spent as a press and audience member on the Fallon show. Steve is a charter member of The Beatle Brunch Club. We invite you to submit any articles and pics you have and we’ll gladly share them with all the Beatle fans in the Brunch.
Paul Fails to Win Golden Globe for Best Song

Sir Paul was spotted on camera throughout the The Golden Globes Sunday night, sitting between two ‘Pretty Women”, actress Julia Roberts on his left and his current girlfriend, Nancy Shevell on his right.

Despite being wrapped in love and smiles, Paul’s song from “Everybody’s Fine” called, “I Want to Come Home” didn’t woo the voters. Instead the winner for Best Song went to “The Weary Kind” from the new Jeff Bridges flick “Crazy Heart”.
