Remember when The Beatles trotted up to the roof of their Apple offices to give an impromptu concert? It was this week in 1969 that they played a 43 minute set up on the roof. Listen for the songs and stories behind it, plus hear an interview with Let it Be Director Michael Lindsay Hogg. Now, Don't Let Me Down, listen!

BBC New Members
The Beatle Brunch Club has managed to entertain and enlighten Beatles fans for almost 4 years reporting The Beatles News as new DVD's, CD's, books, movies, special events, concerts and collectibles were released to the world. We invited many guests, friends of The Beatles to our on-line BBC Chat Room and they intimately shared their thoughts and ideas with enthusiastic Club members. Our Radio Show host, Joe J., faithfully loads new Mind Games questions every week and offers valuable prizes to winning contestants. The Brunch plays ON DEMAND and archives of our radio program are available in addition to an extensive library of audio and video clips on the BBC Downloads Page. We constantly honor BBC members with opportunities to win luxurious prizes, but the greatest reward of all is the power and joy our community instills within its own, where 'The Awesome' is always on the house and 'The Beatles' comfort the soul.

From Me To You
Contribution, BBC'er Ed Hartnett
I have been a BBC member since 2008. I have listened since 2003. Ask me why I didn’t join much earlier ... I wish I had. Now I do know why I joined. Where else can you go every week to learn about The Beatles, their life and their music from the host with the most, Joe Johnson ... a place where you can go to buy Beatle merchandise or be directed to a site that does ... to listen to downloads of new songs, demo’s – songs not available – interviews – rare clips and more. There's a place to ask questions and reply to others. You get to interact with other members and become friends. You have the Mind Games Contest ... listen to The Brunch on line or On Demand and win Fab prizes.
I am very happy to hear the BB Club is updating their site at the end of January and it will be a new era for Beatle Fans, a more user friendly combined site with easy navigation planned. BBC members have waited a long time for this update and I don’t think they will be disappointed. Many ideas and suggestions from BB members have already been considered or are being used to enhance the site. You will be able to chat on line with people who sometime in their life were touched by The Beatles as were you or by a member of the Beatles. You may chat with an author of a Beatle Book or a Beatle Tribute Band or a smorgasbord of eccentric personalities.
It is promised the site will have new features and will be a 22nd Century Marvel. I hope more members will participate and others will join and get involved with the new and improved site. If you are not sure if you want to join long term you have the option to join on a monthly basis to try it out. Hopefully once you realize how much fun it is you may want to join for a longer time. If you are already a member I hope that when the time comes you will want to renew.
Members who want to ask questions about the site, post them on The Fab Forum, look for the appropriate icon and fire away. If you have suggestions please address that as well.
There is a reason The Beatles music has been around so long and we are lucky to have Joe Johnson at the helm of The Yellow Submarine he handles so well.
Be a part of the fun. I have made friends thru the Beatle Brunch Site as well as Beatle Brunch Club Chat. We are not Geeks just members with passion. I hope you will participate in some way very soon.

Ring In The New From Paul & Ringo
By Tom Frangione

Beatle fans will need to get over their new year’s hangovers relatively quickly as both Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will be releasing new studio albums in the early weeks of 2012.
First up is RINGO 2012, a surprisingly brief entry (just nine songs, clocking in near the half hour mark). Included will be Ringo’s recent contribution to the Buddy Holly tribute compilation Listen To Me, as well as a song steeped in the early skiffle era of Beatles history, Lonnie Donnegan’s “Rock Island Line”. Ringo’s taste for a little nostalgia extends to his own solo catalog as well, with remakes of “Step Lightly” (from the 1973 classic Ringo album) and “Wings” (no, it has nothing to do with Paul’s band, but is a song that originally appeared on Ringo the 4th in 1977).
The five new tracks were co-written by Ringo with Van Dyke Parks, Dave Stewart and Joe Walsh (among others), including “In Liverpool”, part three of Ringo’s look back at his hometown following “Liverpool 8” and “The Other Side of Liverpool” from his two most recent albums. Other musicians appearing on the record include Edgar Winter and Richard Page from the most current line-up of Ringo’s touring All-Starr Band.
RINGO 2012 hits stores January 31st. An exclusive CD/DVD version of the album will be available from Amazon.com.
The following week, on February 7th and just in time for Valentine’s Day, Kisses on the Bottom, a collection of a dozen standards complemented by two new original compositions arrives from Paul McCartney. One of the new tracks, “My Valentine” was aired for a limited time on Paul’s website, and is the song Paul wrote for Nancy which he sang for her at their October 9th wedding. Anyone who has enjoyed Paul’s songs written in the style of the early dance hall crooners (think: “When I’m 64”, “Honey Pie”, and Wings’ “You Gave Me The Answer, to name a few) will cherish this record, which features Paul on vocals only, backed by Diana Krall (aka Mrs. Elvis Costello) and her band. Eric Clapton and Stevie Wonder make cameo appearances as well.
Interestingly, two of the songs Paul chose to cover – “Bye Bye Blackbird” and “The Inch Worm” – appear in the Apple Records canon of work, having been recorded by Ringo and Mary Hopkin, respectively. Also included: “It’s Only A Paper Moon”, a big hit for the Mills Brothers (of whom Paul was a big fan) and “Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive”, co-written by Johnny Mercer, one of the founders of Capitol Records, the Beatles’ US record label.
Listen to Beatle Brunch to hear selections from these exciting new releases, and for your chance to win your copies !

Music Education re-IMAGINEd
Contribution, Vanessa Fazio
Can you imagine a studio on wheels? Well, the crew of a bus named in memory of the late, great John Lennon did just that. For 10 months each year for the last 14 years, the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, a non-profit mobile audio and HD video recording and production facility, has been making its way across North America to teach close to 300,000 youth per year about music, including John Lennon and The Beatles, and enable kids to participate in audio, video and broadcast technologies workshops. According to the Boston Globe, the Lennon bus is equipped with "nearly $5-million worth of donated equipment, including guitars, drums, keyboards ... remote-controlled video cameras and even a green screen." What’s most impressive, though, is the Lennon bus’ commitment to providing youth with increased access to music and digital technologies. That commitment is allowing the next generation of musicians to learn, to create, to imagine.

Macca Artist Two
By Vanessa Fazio
BeatleBrunchers, if you're tired of listening to James McCartney's music on your computer's less than rockin' speakers, you'll be pleased to know that with the December '11 release of his latest album, "The Complete EP Collection," James' catalogue is finally available on CD (his music was previously only available for download). Combining two previously released EPs ("Available Light" and "Close At Hand") with five unreleased tracks, the album, produced by Paul McCartney and his longtime producer, David Kahne, showcases the younger McCartney's songwriting and musical prowess. Pick up your copy of "The Complete EP Collection".
