Ringo Gets His Star(r) in Hollywood

Last week, Ringo Starr became the 2401st to get his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, outside the famed Capitol Building at 1750 N. Vine Street, the building “he helped pay for” barked Ringo at the unveiling.

Ringo was flanked by his wife of 30-years, actress and former "Bond Girl" Barbara Bach, plus a dozen or so friends and family, along with nearly 1000 onlookers and fans. One of those who spoke at Ringo’s ceremony, was recent brother-in-law and longtime friend, Joe Walsh, who called Ringo “The Greatest” and said he truly deserved to have a star with one “R” on the walk.

Beatles History For Sale: Abbey Road Studios!

Abbey Road, the London recording studios immortalized by The Beatles album of the same name, has been put on the market by EMI as the music group looks to extricate itself from the debt burden of Terra Firma's 2007 leveraged buy-out.

It was not immediately clear whether EMI would sell the Abbey Road brand name along with the property, but one media lawyer said: "The brand is worth more than the building... anybody who wants the studios will want the brand." Read More
 
 
Oh No! Yoko Turns 77!

This WeekYoko Ono Lennon celebrated her 77th birthday (2/18) with a concert featuring friends and family in New York at BAM on Tuesday night.

Bette Midler sang "Yes, I'm Your Angel" to Yoko, and a concert starring son Sean, Eric Clapton, Klaus Voorman, Justin Bond, Paul Simon, Jim Keltner and others wooed the crowd.

The show began with a montage of Ono recordings, films, interview clips, and photos from her days with husband John Lennon, and ended with the cavalcade of special guests including the “new” Plastic Ono Band.
